Biography for Linda Hanna

 

"Painting is a way for me to hold myself visually accountable for my life experiences and emotions."

 

 

Linda is a retired Interior Designer who began painting with watercolor and arcylic in 2010 when she moved to the Coachella Valley CA from Bend OR where she owned and operated The Design Company. She currently resides in Lombard, Illinois.

 

She was a Gallery Member of the Desert Art Center, the Sun City Art Club, the Coachella Valley Watercolor Society, the Artist Council of the Palm Springs Art Museum, the American Watercolor Society (non signature) and the National Watercolor Society (non signature), and participated in local juried shows such as the Riverside County Date Festival and the Coachella Valley Watercolor Society Annual Show as well as gallery shows by invitation or jury selection and has been the feature artist at the Desert Art Center. She is currently affiliated with the Dupage Art League in Wheaton, Illinois.

 

Linda typically paints in a bold, loose, wet on wet style and adds detail, darks and calligraphy, using water soluable ink, as the surface of the watercolor paper dries. Her subject matter is varied although she shows a preference for landscapes containing buildings and architectural subjects. She tends toward bright colors and the use of the natural white of the paper to bring sparkle to the painting.

 

Ms. Hanna accepts commission requests if you appreciate her style and would like a painting of a particular subject or photograph to which you own the rights. There is no obligation to purchase a commission request however a $100 non refundable deposit is required.  She can be reached at Lindahanna0@gmail.comIn addition prints of many, but not all, of the painting on this site are available if the original has been sold.
